Description
Directly responsible for the day to day management, administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource (HR) function. Oversees and assists with the implementation and administration of employment policies and programs, compensation administration, training, employee relations, investigations, HRIS platform integrity/functionality and other functional areas of human resources. Collaborates with senior management and Head of Human Resources to support the consistent value and enhancement of human resources.

Essential Functions
• Develops, recommends and implements human resources policies, procedures and practices for all company personnel and HROPs for the human resources department. Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resources federal and statement requirements
• Manages employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and input in hiring of the employees within that department. Oversees department meetings.
• Plans, organizes and controls activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
• Develops and maintains accurate record keeping and compliance for human resources records, including but not limited to EEO-1 files and EEO regulations, OSHA files and regulations, I-9 files regulations and Immigration files and regulations
• Maintains the work structure by reviewing and implementing policy revisions including but not limited to holiday calendar, payroll calendar, vacation and travel policies, sick days/medical leave policy, employee referral policy etc.
• Oversees the maintenance of company resource documents including but not limited to organization charts, employee directory, floor maps and other similar items.
• Implements and maintains compensation program including new position benchmarking, merit matrix and salary grades. Completes annual review of these items, updates salary and total compensation surveys, analyzes benchmarking results and suggests changes as needed.
• Manages the performance evaluation program, ensures timelines are met, provides employee and management coaching, oversees system training, and monitors the annual results of the program and implements changes as necessary.
• Develops and maintains payroll process, approves payroll registers, monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions, recommending, planning and implementing payroll process revisions.
• Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
• Oversees and assists with Company Events
• Oversees and assists with facilities management as needed, including but not limited to supply orders, building maintenance requests, parking requests
• Established and supports strategic Human Resource Management including but not limited to performance management, counseling, HRIS systems & training and development. Serves a as liaison and HR subject matter expert on cross-functional project teams, such as large-scale organizational change initiatives
• Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
• Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records as required by law
• Manages employee relations; counseling employees and supervisors; conducts investigations; maintains records and represents the organization at hearings; escalates issues appropriately
• Plans and implements management coaching including but not limited to candidate selection, exit interviews, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results, disciplining employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances;
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Support new market and global expansion as needed
• Other duties as assigned or reassigned by management

Supervisor Responsibilities
This position manages employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of the office are normally associated with extended amounts of time sitting and using office equipment, including a computer, keyboard and mouse, which can cause muscle strain. While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and may require weekend work.

Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Travel may be required (up to 20%).

Education & Professional Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field and five years’ human resources experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three or more years of Human Resources Management experience required

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
• Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry highly preferred
• Experience with a publically held company highly preferred
• Comprehensive global knowledge of human resources preferred
• Experience with Oracle preferred
