A Century City firm is looking to hire a Docket Analyst in its Century City Office. The Docket Analyst, reporting to the Legal Docketing Supervisor is responsible for providing comprehensive litigation docketing services to the firm, including calendaring for all assigned matters, adhering to calendaring procedures and processes for these matters, and facilitating firm compliance with calendaring policies and protocols to minimize the risk of missed deadlines.


• Responsible for opening, coding and distribution of all mail directed to attorneys and paralegals in a timely manner

• Responsibilities include the computation of court deadlines, maintenance and updating of the firm's litigation calendar/docket,

• Responsible for reviewing all litigation documents, including those being delivered by Fed Express, the pouches, court returns faxes, electronic deliveries to dept. email account, and ECF filing hand deliveries, calculating deadline dates and inputting information into the firms docketing database.

• Application of court rules and procedures by use of various outside services and assistance with researching and responding to docketing inquiries from the Los Angeles & Miami office
• Maintain the integrity of the docketing/calendaring system and perform quality assurance/quality checks of all entries entered.
• Generate weekly reports of upcoming dates for attorneys

• Responsible for reviewing, researching changes to all court rules and updating litigation

• Responsible for generation and development of specific calendar macros for importing in the calendar database.

• Consults with attorneys and other personnel on calendaring related matters.

• Researches calendar related matters and court rules (i.e. Local Rules, Federal Rules and when requested to do so by the attorneys).

• Assist Legal Docketing Supervisor/Manager in conducting ongoing effective firm training programs on docketing systems, policies and protocols to attorneys, paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding firm and client matters.

• Work with the Library Coordinator in retrieving case information (i.e. new lawsuits, case information and details) as requested by the Attorney's

Post-secondary education desirable. Two years of previous experience in calendaring/docketing with knowledge and understanding of state, federal and local rules of procedure. The firm will consider a motivated individual with less than two years' experience who are willing to listen, learn and apply themselves within the organization. Prefer individuals who have experience with Compulaw Vision or similar docketing/calendaring database and who are familiar with retrieving documents and case information from Pacer. Must be service-oriented, dependable and able to work as a member of a small team.
