The Development Assistant supports THP’s fundraising efforts and initiatives and will manage and perform various administrative duties, social media engagement and campaigns, general communications, record-keeping, and other tasks established by the Associate Director. The position requires collaboration with executive, program, and development staff.

Other Qualifications Office computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); familiarity with accessing and using contact databases, especially eTapestry; proficient social media skills including twitter, facebook, instagram; excellent written and oral communications skills; detail-oriented; flexible work schedule to include some weekends and weeknights.

Tasks and Duties: The Development Assistant:

1. Develops and maintains social media fundraising campaigns and communications
2. Develops and maintains meeting and event schedules for THP’s resource development activities, primarily those for the Associate Director and members of the Board of Directors, so that funding opportunities are created, managed, and sustained
3. Manages the organization’s donor database (eTapestry), including:
1. entering contribution information
2. providing regular and as-needed reports
4. Acknowledges donor contributions through: thank you letters and telephone calls
5. Manages correspondence – follow-up letters, letters of special acknowledgement, descriptions of upcoming events/activities of potential interest to donors, etc. – to donors, ensure it is timely and tailored to the specifics of the circumstance
6. Ensures telephone calls are made to donors, current and prospective, to cultivate them effectively
7. Maintains files – electronic and traditional – on donors, including current and prospective, for use in building and sustaining meaningful relationships between them and The Harmony Project
8. Assists in developing and mailing out grant proposals.
9. Completes other tasks, as needed and as requested
