Description:

Employment Status: Temporary, hourly \"non-exempt\" position.

Work Schedule: To be arranged.

Current employees will be given preferred consideration.

Under direct supervision, the incumbent will support the implementation activities of the Strategic Analysis for all graduate programs and also the assessment activities. The incumbent will create and simplify the databases of any data collected throughout the year for the Office of Graduate Studies and the Office of Student Research and prepare the data reports. The incumbent is also expected to provide clerical support to administrative units and/or academic departments. In addition, the incumbent may perform reception duties, including answering telephones, typing forms, letters and memos, and performing other clerical duties as assigned.

Applicants must possess the equivalent to one year of experience in general office clerical work, along with a general knowledge of office methods, procedures and practices, and a working knowledge of correct English, grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Applicants must possess the ability to use survey administration software.

Applicants must possess the ability to use spreadsheet software and SPSS or related statistical software.

Applicants must possess the ability to perform basic statistical analysis and provide consultation on proper statistical tests.

Applicants must possess knowledge on research/experimental design.

Applicants must possess fundamental writing skills to effectively communicate standard information.

Applicants must possess the ability to perform basic arithmetic functions, along with the ability to respond to basic routine inquiries and explain standard policies and procedures to others.

Applicants must possess the ability to use standard office equipment, along with the ability to use standard word processing and related computer software packages.

Applicants must possess the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse campus community and student population.

PREFERRED:

Knowledge of PeopleSoft is preferable.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.
