The Global Finance Group partners with other Capital Group departments to proactively provide relevant, timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis, innovative solutions and other insightful information that impacts business decision-making while protecting company interests. As a Senior Accountant in the Corporate Accounting group based in Irvine, CA, you will work on standardized and recurring assignments partnering with senior staff on complex projects, analyses and tasks. Responsibilities: Prepare, review and present corporate financial results; assist with various accounting and financial reporting tasks; streamline and improve efficiency of reporting and processes Supports monthly close cycle activities, prepares income statements, balance sheets, account reconciliations and other financial schedules, and settles monthly intercompany payables and receivables Complete audit and regulatory requirements Research complex accounting matters; analyze and address period operating results compared to prior period and budget Collaborate with senior staff on ad hoc analyses Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance required; CPA and/or MBA is preferred 2-5 years of experience in accounting, finance or a related function required GAAP and SEC reporting experience preferred but not required Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality involving accuracy, attention to detail, organization and self-review skills, thoughtful analysis and problem-solving, effective collaborating skills and accountability for excellent results Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel Company Overview: Founded in 1931, Capital Group is one of the world's largest and most trusted investment management companies and home to the American Funds.
